A Swirl of Thanks
Topic: New Work

Inspiration today comes from this Bed In A Bag set. I decided to mimic the colors, swirls, trims and even the general layout!

A piece of textured burgundy cardstock was run through the Cuttlebug swirl plate and then sanded, leaving some of the texture to mimic the look of fabric. The cardstock has a white core so I was able to apply Butterscotch Adriondack ink using a water brush. A full sheet of textured deep yellow cardstock was streaked in both directions by pulling the edge of the Butterscotch pad over the surface. I used a burgundy watercolor marker to apply ink to a rubber stamp of diagonal stripes to create a border along the bottom edge. Since the stripes only went one direction, I hand drew in the opposing lines.

The same marker was used to color in a vine stape which was applied along the top edge after folding the deep yellow cardstock and trimming to fit the burgundy piece. Scraps of that trimming were used to stamp the text and a round punch finished the ends.
