A magazine illustration is the feature of this card which uses a striped scrapbook paper for a background. The brown cardstock pulls out some of the background color and I used Whisper inkpad direct-to-paper to make the background for the greeting. It was then stamped with red ink and cut out with a Cuttlebug die and the edges distressed with the same red.
Gold satin ribbon with a bow defines the bottom border.

The orange tulips are back. I cut these (from an advertising folder) and gave them a green scrapbook background, a yellow border, and orange cardstock. Then I pulled out the orange and yellow plaid ribbons and used a snippet of each to tie contrasting 'bows' on them. The text is rubberstamped with dark orange on card I toned green with Whisper inkpad direct-to-paper. I trimmed close around it before mounting.
Start with a sticker... (I know, I usually end with a sticker!)
In this case I rally wanted to use this cute bear so everything else was based on this. First came the yellow-gold plaid scrapbook paper to match the teacup. Then the background cardstock to match his kerchief. I found that I had the sticky-backed braid in the right colors and a lovely pair of roses from the same sticker sheet as the bear. They are raised on foam to ride over the braid. The text is from a printed scrapbook paper but it was a light pink background. So I used Whisper inkpad direct to paper to match it to the cardstock.
Two little birds (from a calendar) sing inspiring notes from the 'gloria' music in the background. The music is printed tissue on cream cardstock. Each bird and the fabric text sticker are mounted on brown card. Each birg got 3 little square brads installed and then everything is mounted on the background. The two smaller pieces are raised on foam for dimension. The final step was to add a bit of ribbon.

Another little pup from the back of a calendar. I gave him a background of scrapbook paper and some ribbon. The letters are chipboard.
What a strange collection of scraps! The serendipity squares across the top are the ultimate in scrapping as they are made of bits of odds and ends and then cut into little squares and mounted on a coordinating scrap of card. Then the butterfly came complete with the cutouts in the wings from some sort of advertisment (I think it was for papers), and the text is a cut-down sticker that matched. I mounted every one of them on a glittery salmon cardstock, some on foam. Then they were all mounted on purple to match the item backgrounds.

I think this card made itself! I picked up the magazine illustration which already had a thin black border. I thought "this needs text behind it' and remembered I had this printed tissue. I tore out a section and distressed the edges with ink. Then I pulled out a bunch of brown-toned scrapbook papers looking for just the right one and 'wham' this diamond print in gold and black just called out.
I folded a base card and glued everything down, then added a white rub-on to bring out the white in the signs.
This card literally came together in 10 minutes!

I started with this impressionist painting from a magazine and gathered complementary elements for this card. Down the left is a scrap of paste paper with four serendipity squared on top. The lower right corner hosts a butterfly sticker and two white rub-ons are combined for the text.
The base card was selected to pull all the purple elements together.

Two birds cut with t square punch. Two thick acrylic stickers over the birds. Two strips of green cardstock. Two pearl centered brads.
One blue, textured background (In two colors). One clear text sticker.

These two birds look like they are having a whopper of a conversation, don't they? The red border was selected to pick up the color from their heads and the card matches their wings. A green puffy acrylic sticker cautions one to 'be yourself'.
A new quilt supply catalog offered up this beautiful illustration. I added leaf stickers and combined two fabric stickers for the text. This is all laid out on a copper cardstock layered over green.
The text sticker reads "You make me realize how beautiful my life is." Isn't that great? This illustration is from a magazine and I have used distress ink to darken the tone. The frame around it and base card have been distressed on the edges and toned with distress ink as well. The blue background was put through the Cuttlebug and then a dark red ink pad stroked over it to color the raised portions.
Then there is that sticker...

I've almost used up my year's calendar worth of Audubon bird illustrations - but I have a few left and this is one of them. Multi layers of cardstock, one of which has been run through the Cuttlebug. A few little brass brads and a fabric sticker are the finishers.
I love how this card came together from such simple elements. I started with a globe illustration and used my square punch to make 9 exact cuts. These were glued to brown cardstock with a thin dividing line between each one. The magnifying square is a self-adhesive flexible acrylic and I was delighted to discover that applying it centered over the intersection defined the US. I drew around it with brown Sharpie to make it more visible.
After mounting on light blue folded cardstock, I added two stickers - the text pocket watch and the dip pen.

Another collage card comes from my 'parts and starts' drawer. I combined a stamped map, real stamps, a travel brochure quote, ephemera stickers (ticket, postcard, pen, and key). After gluing all the pieces in place I brushed them, and the card they are mounted on, with distress ink. This is to unify them as they started with varying degrees of intensity and brightness.
The white letters are rub-ons.

When a simple 'thank you' is needed, you can't go wrong with flowers. I snagged this sunflower from a magazine and set to finding the best background for it. Here's how it stacks up. Illustration, peel-and-stick paint sample, striped scrapbook paper, yellow folded cardstock.
The same yellow cardstock was embossed with the Cuttlebug and the raised surface sanded down to the white core, trimmed and glued on.

My favorite hydrangea stamp is back! After stamping with Staz-On on smooth white cardstock I colored with watercolor pencils using two shades of purple and two of green. Then I used a water brush to blend the colors on the image. I used a heat gun to dry it and then picked up a brown tone on the water brush and added some background shading. Finally, yellow pencil was added to the flower centers.
The torn-edged flower has been mounted with foam tape on purple card, this over a texturized tan and both on top of a folded green cardstock. The brass plate greeting was also mounted with foam.

I gathered up a selection of Americana and antique images and created a collage on sage green cardstock. Brown Sharpie marker was used to create faux stitching around the elements to unify them.
The title Americana is also written with the Sharpie. Then I used star stickers for more unity.

This is one of my own patterns for stitching cards. I placed this country dulcimer on a woodgrained cardstock and mounted it on dark brown stock imprinted with swirls then on another tone of brown to match the thread.
A vellum sticker with the same range of browns was added for text.

For this boy's first birthday card I started with the catalog illustration of clothing. So cute! Then I mounted on blue cardstock that I had distressed along the edges. This went onto text-printed scrapbook paper with cute sayings about boys. Then comes another layer of blue cardstock with roughed edges and finally a green folded cardstock for the base.
I used some of the same blue cardstock and put it through the Cuttlebug to imprint the cake and happy birthday message. The last step was to cut out the '1' from a set of printed tiles and mount it with foam.
