More of the lovely new poppy stamp I picked up. This was stamped on printed scrapbook paper and colored with watercolor markers. I used the leaf from the same set to stamp a border on the base card.
I added Stickles to the wings of the bee and applied a clear text sticker.

I have this little voice in the back of my head that insists it is cheating to call it gardening if you buy plants half grown and just put them in the dirt. Even more so if flowers are blooming in your garden at the moment you cover the roots with soil!
Alas, I have delayed so long in planting my garden this year that I stooped to the depths and bought tomato plants to plop in the ground. I'm SO ashamed (but hopefully will have tasty tomatoes out of it).
However, the rest of the barrels (11 of them) have been planted with their little seeds in the manner of proper gardening.
I planted on Monday afternoon. Here on Thursday afternoon I have three barrels sprouting.

Yeah, I know they're small - but for only three days old...
The other thing is that they look pretty much the same. Good thing I labeled the barrels:
I did all the lettering with a chisel point marker upside-down leaning over the barrel! Pretty good, huh?

I created this 3D card with multiple stampings of the elements and cut them up to mount with pop-dots. This is a new Anna Griffin stamp I picked up on vacation. I couldn't wait to use it!
Here you get a better view of the layers. The bottom layer is stamped directly onto the patterned paper.

Simple as can be, this dress is made from a Nestabilities scalloped circle, run through a Cuttlebug Swirls die. The sides are trimmed away to create the shape and It was laid over a paper coaster and trimmed again. A 1/4 inch ribbon makes the waistband and 1/8 inch ribbon is used for the shoulder straps and the bow at the waist.
I cut a folded cardstock and a background paper and distressed both with Weathered Wood distressing ink. The dress was mounted using foam dots and the sticker was placed.

I haven't done up this one of my patterns for a long time. I pricked it out on scrapbook paper with a water pattern. It is stitched with a verigated coral thread and mounted on a matching cardstock base.
As luck would have it, I had an appropriate text sticker in the right color, as well.

This is the first 'viewmaster' card I have made. It uses a yellow card front (much brighter than the photo appears). The wheel behind the aperture rotates 4 different bouquets over the vase, which is cut from green cardstock and mounted on foam tape. This raises it above the brad that hold the wheel mechanism in place.
I glittered over the water area of the vase, added dotted ribbon, a single line to anchor the vase, and mounted it all on a black card base. This means I will have to add a panel to the inside when I am ready to add a greeting.

Another stitching of the slice of bread. The thread colors are all the same it is only different in the finishing. I trimmed very close to the stitching lines and used a distressing tool to rough the edges.
I mounted to chocolate brown cardstock and added gold peel off borders to the sides.
The black on this card had an aperture cut out so I backed it with light green paper run thru the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder. I used a marker to touch each dot to add color. I added a strip of dotted black ribbon and mounted on a white card base.
To this I added a row of black dots around the edge.
I made a template for the petals and cut them from yellow cardstock. Every other one is mounted on foam dots and a marker was used to stripe the center. The stems and leaves are cut from green cardstock and a green marker used to add shadows for dimension.

I have returned from a really long field trip (from OR to TN) and have a much heavier suitcase and a much lighter wallet! Because... in TN they have Hobby Lobby - and I have a D-I-L who knows where it is! YAY!
So the two of us ran away from home on Thursday and swept through the store like those contestants on a shopping gameshow.
There are so MANY things that one cannot buy at the local Michaels or Joann's. Sigh! So now I have more stickers, Tim Holtz's fragments and grungeboard, more folders for my Cuttlebug, more Nestabilities dies, some other Spellbinders dies, some fabulous acrylic stamps, packs o brads, the cutest craft iron on the planet, and other sundries.
If it weren't midnight following a full day flying across the country, I'd be in the studio busting it all out to play with. But my bed is calling me, so goodnight!

We love the wildlife in our back yard... let me emphasis IN the back yard. At the back door is another story!
We have couple of raccoons that come running out of the brush when my hubby whistles for them - because they know he will toss marshmallows to them.
The other day, one of them wanted to know what the holdup was and came up the stairs to the deck to see for herself.
If you open the door she will just look at you until you tell her to 'get down' and then she will rund down to the yard, stand up, and beg.

Last spring I was contacted about becoming a paid designer for CardMaker Kit-of-the-Month Club and I readily agreed. The first assignment came up in June and I had a lot of fun putting together the samples and instructions for 8 card projects.
Since that time the designs have been incorporated into their advertising, though they have not been distributed to the kit subscribers. I first saw them on their website and then, the other day, got an advertising packet in the mail wasnting me to subscribe. Imagine the thrill I got seeing the designs right on the envelope in my own mailbox!

For Mother's Day my dear daughter gifted me with a new CD. It totally rocks!

Another 3D butterfly/floral cutting is the feature of today's card. I found a diamond-printed scrapbook paper and used the Scor-It to enhance the lines making it look like a garden lattice. These were placed over a purple scrapbook paper with a fabric print, which I created a decorative edge upon with a Fiskars border punch.
I added Stickles to all the flower centers and purple rhinestones in the centers of the flowers in the border.

The colors in this 3D cutting were perfectly matched by the tile-printed scrapbook paper in my scraps drawer. I just trimmed it down to fit and used a pink paper with a subtle pattern under that. A yellow folded card base provides a beautiful backdrop for this.
I added Stickles to the stamens of the flowers and placed four green teardrop rhinestones on the butterfly wings.

I stitched up my 'daily bread' design again. This time I trimmed it fairly close to the stitching and used my Scor-It to create a double lined band on all four edges. I used 'old paper' distress ink to make the lines more visible and set on a textured tan card base, also distressed with 'old paper'.

More 3D for kids! These little guys have hit the road in their scooter. I glued to plain paper and cut a border to set them off from the black background I chose. I went over selected words with red watercolor marker to highlight them and match them to the scooter.
. . . and away they go!

These little 3D bears on their way to a picnic were in my stash and I decided to make them up. How cute! I added dotted paper and the put a striped paper on an angle to mimic the angle of the road.
I added stickles to the flower centers for a little pizazz!

I stitched up this yellow cardstock with the blue thread and then discovered I had the 3D element in the same colors so cut it out to place. A little more searching through the supplies turned up the matching striped scrapbook paper and a thick acrylic greeting.
I added glitter-glue in the greeting holes. Love how this fell together.

One of my groups had a challenge to combine iris folding with paper embroidery. This is my card featuring a red-breasted bird where the iris folding is done with three shades of mulberry paper behind blue cardstock. His eye is a clear rhinestone colored with Sharpie marker.
I stitched a floral branch for this little fellow to perch upon and added peel-off corners and a greeting.

Starting with the lady's picture from a framing catalog I backed it with parts from a Cuttlebugged peach cardstock as well as a full piece with a text impression. I used 'tattered rose' distress ink to color the raised portions and added a scalloped frame to the image. A belly-band of a quilted print scrapbook paper was added and topped with a gold-imprinted cream ribbon. All were laid upon a gold embellished specialty paper and a coral cardstock.
All of the pieces were distressed with the 'tattered rose' ink and I added three pearl brads in the peach tone.
