The colors on this are not a bizarre as they look here, I have done color editing to obscure the actual papers used as they were part of a product notyet released.
I haven't done anything with round teabags for years. This is a simple half-fold and I added one of the teabags to the center, as well.
Another circle was cut into quarters to serve as corner backets.

This picture is from a 3D cutting sheet given to me several years ago. I took it with me as part of the crafts to work on while on vacation.

What goes around, comes around... I made this card at the first of the year and mailed it out for an overseas birthday. This week it came back in the mail for no apparent reason.
I had forgotten to take a photo for posting on the blog, so now I got my chance! How did it know?
This card is make from a kit of papers, paper flowers, buttons, cardstock, rubber stamps, and ribbon. This was another of the crafts offered on the cruise. Basically, this was the 'free' craft to entice everone into participating in the ones where you had to buy the kit.
These kits come with 'instructions' that show the appropriate layout. The table I sat at had three other ladies that either made cards, stamped, or did scrapbooking. Nobody followed the directions!

Our recent vacation was a couple of cruises. On the first, they had crafts aboard! They gave us kits with frames, papers, rubons, and sticky-backed die-cuts.
I used my scissors to distress the parts and pieces and created this:

I'm sure when the photographer took this photo and when the brochure designer put it together and when the company mailed the brochure, nobody had any idea how it would end up. I bet they thought I was going to read their brochure... surprise! LOL!
This time around I used markers to color stripes of similar colors to the illustration on each side of the card. They were a little to 'marker-y' so I covered them with rub-on doodles.
The single word and the scripture are from the same set - metallic text on clear stickers.

Used a Nestabilities Label 4 die to cut the illustration off a card in my salvage pile. The flowers are slightly raised so I embossed the border of the panel and then made two textured panels to bring out the colors in the illustration. Ribbons that go all the way through the card, using slits at the fold, hide the seams.
I used a cardstock sticker with yellow print showing the definition of 'happy'.
This is a complete reversal for this illustration as it originally came from a sympathy card.

I'm pretty shure this is the last of the cardstock squares with collages on them. I used pen stitching around them and rub-on stitching on the base card, just as before.
The text is a cardstock sticker - and, yes, the safety pin is part of their artwork not mine.

The other tree illustration worked so well, I decided to do it again. This photo was taller than wide but I kept the same background technique, used the same cardstock colors, and border trim. I did add a couple of gold corners and changed the greeting.
Why mess with success?

I showed a card a while back using a different part of this artwork. I wanted to use these two birds but they were too small on their own. However, the background was too plain and didn't have any outstanding features of its own. Ta Dah! I framed each piece and layered them, using pop-dots for the smaller one.
You can see faintly on the left the gold text sticker "Let everything that has breath praise the Lord".

Stitched with gold thread, this clover did not show up well on the green card. So I did a little coloring with colored pencils and cut an aperture in the folded cardstock base to frame it. The bow element is added just because it matches.
This is NOT my favorite card. I think it looks a little juvenile. But what's done is done.

More faux stitching with pens and in rub-ons. I started with another sheet of the printed collage squares. With these half the work is already done. And there is not a lot of bulk so they mail nicely, too.
I added more stitching in the text to make words that would connect the two cardstock stickers.

These bears are printed on parchment and I glued them to cream colored stock so I could stack them to make them 'go' together.
The scallop should look familiar - from the marquee cards - and I had the text block in a box of die-cuts. Just added some matching cardstock and pen doodles to pull it all together.
The purple band on the right is really the back of the card. The front ends at the edge of the cream color and you can see how the little bear's foot hangs over the edge.

If this looks familiar it is because I had two of these text stamped pieces mounted on scrapbook paper. I decided to not reinvent a layout and started out making it pretty much the same as last week's. But then I had to change up the paper colors, use different trims and added brad.
The same - but different.

No pins, no needles, no thread, no stitching! That's right... this card has absolutely not a single stitch on it.
I started with the blocks which are preprinted on cardstock. I used a square punch so they would be identical. They were glued down and little 'stitches' were drawn all around them with fine-line markers. Then I added a cardstock sticker at the borrom that looks like it is quilted. This, too, got the pen stitching. Finally, I added two side strips of rub-on borders that look like fabric tape with stitching.
The background cardstock has a linen finish so it looks a little like fabric, too.

A junk mail brochure recently netted me this great photo of a field of yellow flowers backed by trees. I selected similar colors in cardstock and tore them and layered to create an imitation of the landscape for a background.
The picture is trimmed out with gold peel-off sticker border and I added a matching gold greeting.

Bits and pieces left over from other projects come together to make this little card. In trying to find some border stickers I ran across these rub-on stitches that I forgot I had. The colors were perfect!

To feature this cross-stitched clover I actually cut the aperture in the front of the card. The stitched piece is mounted inside and the cut out piece is mounted on the back of it to cover up the stitching.
The interior has a copy of an Irish plessing glued in.

Taking up the 'challenge' again, I put together this 'side hinge' card. The front and back are scored at 1/4 inch from the fold then the front only is slit and the front piece slides in and the whole hinge is sealed closed.
I decorated with cutouts, ribbon, stamping, gel pens, and stickers.

Since I had more of these little rose squares already punched out I decided to put together another card, much like the first one. However, I did not have the same embellishments available so this one is changed up a bit.
I used a parchment sticker for the greeting, mounted over rose colored paper and distressed. This is curved in mounting so it does not lie flat on the surface of the card. Two of the little squares had buttons in them so I added a button of my own to the card and tied a bit of the chenille yarn through the holes.
Again, I used the chenille yarn at the fold, bu this time tied a bow instead of a knot.
