Green scraps took the stage next. With such big bold blocks of color I needed to go with black Dazzles for enough contrast.
I used 6 stickers from a sheet featuring bicycles: the bike, the balloons, handlebar tassles (2), gift on the back, and the 'road' at the bottom.
The greeting is from a peel-off sheet of stickers - not Dazzles.

Scraps in shades of grey make for a very elegant background. I wanted to keep that classy feel so I used a white Dazzles sheet in a doily cut.
To create contrast I had to diecut a round as a backer for the doily. It was not quite large enough to go to the edges so I drew around those extending tips with a fine line black marker.
The text is a clear sticker.

Gray, green and yellow combine surprisingly well in these three scraps.
I opened a new sheet of Dazzles feathers - this time in silver to go with the grey.
The sentiment is from an old sheet of silver Dazzles.

The blue scraps I had left were all shorter so I had to turn this card upright with stripes running side to side.
Here's a Dazzles sheet I hadn't used yet so I dug right in and used the largest gold doily on the sheet.
I went back to some old Dazzles sheets to find a sentiment sticker for this one.

I had a few more blue scraps than red so I was able to make two cards instead of just one. These blues have a bit of green tint to them so I went with gold embellishments.
I went back to the sheet of feather stickers and the same text sticker that I started this series with.
I think this really turned out elegantly.

Having used up the brown table scraps I moved on to the reds. I didn't have as many of these - in fact, only enough to make ONE card!
I actually used reds AND pinks and stayed with a straightforward striped background. With such a bright layout I needed to go very dark for the embellishments. I pulled out a black Dazzles sheet that was all various banners. I cut one word in two so I could fit the words on the stripes. The black strips give the banners something to 'hang' from and I curved the banners as I applied them
I used a black marker to draw little bows at the banner ends.

I didn't realize I had quite so many brown scraps in all those sorted envelopes! I mean, really? Seven cards?
This one used the largest scrap I had on hand along with one plain strip. The potted sunflower was colored with the same three markers I've been using all along on this series.
Oh, Look! I didn't stamp the sentiment on this one. This time I used the text afailable on the Dazzles sheet.

I moved on to another sunflower sheet of Dazzles and this time the plants are potted. I still kept coloring them - with the same three markers as I used before.
I like how the upper left snippet, which is actually scrollwork, resembles a garden of flowers. The vertical decorative strip is also a Dazzles.

The card today looks remarkably like yesterday's. However, I grouped the sunflowers on the left corner instead of the right. I colored the blooms again, used the same corner flourish and stamped the sentiment.
I like the little snippet of music in the corner.

I continued on with the brown scraps and the brown sunflower Dazzles but moved on one step by coloring in the blooms with Distress markers.
That stamp has been working for me so far so I inked it up again for this card.

For the next brown scrappy card I stayed with the brown Dazzles but moved on to a set of sunflowers.
The butterflies are Dazzles as well and I stamped the text.

Round two of the brown scraps - I used more scraps as blocks instead of all stripes.
Many of the new Dazzles I bought are brown instead of the usual silver, gold and black. What a perfect thing to have on hand for my brown scraps.
I used black ink to stamp the text on this card.

I gave up on using the table scraps for OWH sketch cards. The remainder of them I had sorted out had been cut down and used up until the bits were mostly too small to fit any of the sketches.
So I did a complete resort of the table scraps by color groups and used them to make scrappy backgrounds on card fronts. Then I went to my new stash of Dazzles (peel-off stickers) to decorate them.
Here's the first from the brown series - which is the largest color group. This one got decorated with a large gold feather sticker and a word sticker from the same sheet.
Now THAT'S the way to use up scraps!

How strange - two sketches in a row that I had used before and made multiple versions of AND that I did in May 2011.
Even back then I wasn't good about following sketches to the letter but I did get the essence of the layout represented. Here is my favorite of the 15 or so I made:
Some of the nifty elements on this are the use of a border print paper for the floral, a wooden heart, and clear acrylic dots over the spots on the lower paper.

OWH sketch 60 is one that I made LOTS of back in May 2011.
It really appealed to me and I did about 10 versions of it back then. This is my favorite:
The birds are from a calendar page, the background is a ColorMe sheet and the text is a clear sticker. All of the blocks are popped up on foam tape.

Gonna have a little fun with OWH sketch 59:
As soon as I saw this sketch I knew I wanted that large center panel to feature one of the new Dazzles stickers I got. I cut and spliced some papers to give the panel borders on all sides, negating the need to layer as the sketch shows. I made the background represent sky, landscape and grass.
The text stickers were on the same sheet as the bicycle.

Stylish, elegant, classy - all a good description of how I treated OWH sketch 58:
The first element I changed on this sketch was combining the two uprights into one large panel. I had already chosen a sheet of vellum floral stickers for this card and the sheet included an image of ribbon. I placed two of these on the upright panel to recreate the look of the original split.
I used more of the vellum stickers to create background paper. Then I selected some square silver peel-off stickers and placed them over some of the vellum flowers. When I trimmed away toe vellum from the outsides of the squares it was easy to remove the sticker backing and attach these directly to the pale lavender block.
The feature block is popped up on foam tape and includes a doodle border and a stamped sentiment.

Ooooh, here's a lovely layout on OWH sketch 57:
Umm, I can't possibly make it 'just' like that.
So first I rotated it 1/4 turn clockwise. I had the perfect circle element from one of the Dazzles sticker sheets but it wasn't large enough. So I made the 'hole' the size on the sketch and popped up all of the elements on foam tape. I think it kind of looks like a stained glass window now so I decided to add a scripture strip in the same color as that backing the circle.
I went back and added gold sticker trim around the text block to tie it in with the circle.

And, yes, I followed the sketch again!
You don't see it on the photo but I had to splice the papers in a couple of areas to use these scraps for the sketch. I kept it pretty simple, using three papers from the same dotted collection. The light strip made the perfect foil for a little picket fence from my new collection of Dazzles stickers. I added a birdhouse and work stickers from the same sheet to wrap this all up.
I guess the question is, "How long can I make myself stick to the sketches?"

Now presenting OWH sketch 55 - and look at that, I kept to the prescribed layout two days in a row:
I'm so amazed I stayed with the sketch! But, then, I wasn't using all scraps like before. This allowed me to actually cut the sizes I wanted. When I think about it, the upper left piece is the only one that is not scraps so I guess I did pretty well. I cut that piece for the background because it was a companion to the flowers across the bottom edge of the center feature.
I chose to border the center element with yellow to pull that color from the background papers. By repeating that color on the stamped sentiment strip it brings the focus to the message.
