Eight Years Down!
Topic: Welcome to my Blog

Eight years ago today I posted my first entry 'Welcome To My Blog'. Since that date I have posted every single day (sometimes more than one entry) covering mostly arts and crafts with a few other creative endeavors thrown in.

I've done cards of all sorts, remodeling, painting, jewelry, tutorials, gardening, photography, manicures, quilting, sewing, writing, and supplies reviews. I've also taken classes (online and in real life), gone on retreats, shared vacations and experimented in the kitchen.

All of it has been a blast!

Since the inception of this blog I have retired so I have a LOT more time to devote to creative pursuits. The most ambitious new hobby that I have taken on is quilting. It was totally different than anything I had been doing up to that point and I am loving it.

That started 4 1/2 years ago and the quilt I am finishing right now is number 70! That is a LOT of quilting!

I also started contributing to two charities: Quilts which go to our local hospital for dying patients (the family keeps the quilt) and making cards for Operation Write Home which you have heard a LOT about on this blog.

In the future I'd love to do some video tutorials, get a paper craft book published, overhaul my main website and take some beading classes. This fall I will get to take a quilting cruise and I am quite excited about that!

So, stick around - I plan to be here for a long time.

Can I ask a favor? If you read this blog, will you give a comment on this post. No need to share anything specific or make a big statement. Just a 'hi' to let me know I'm not talking to an audience that consists of three family members. LOL!

Seriously, I get maybe one or two comments a year, so anything is appreciated.

Back to regular postings tomorrow.

Yep, Somebody's Out There
Topic: Welcome to my Blog

In my month-long quest for blog comments I was delighted to see that I had 6 (yes, six) fans!

In addition to my mother and my daughter, four people commented either on the blog or emailed me directly. Three names were drawn and they have been contacted regarding their prizes.

Lois will be receiving this box

Muffy will be receiving this box

Jill will be receiving this box

Thanks to all

ONE WEEK LEFT TO RUSTLE UP A COMMENT
Topic: Welcome to my Blog

I've been struggling for the past few weeks, trying to decide whether posting on this blog should continue. YOU will be the deciding factor.

Back on May 31, I posted a notation that the blog had reached it's ONE YEAR anniversary. In celebration of that, I asked for comments to be posted 'through June 30' with all comments being put in a drawing for one of three items made during the A to Z self-challenge.

To this date I have received exactly ONE COMMENT - from my MOTHER!

Ia anybody else out there? Are you still reading this blog? Do you care? Shall I just forget it? I mean, really, if my Mom is the only person reading about my art, I can send her emails with photos!

So, if anyone wants this blog to continue, please leave a comment. You will be entered into the drawing to be held on July 1. If you don't want the blog to continue, why are you reading this now??? Hmmmm?

The opening salvo
Now Playing: On the first day of blogging...
Topic: Welcome to my Blog

Well I've jumped into the fray, thrown my hat in the ring, got my toes wet, and started a blog. What a lot of ways to get in trouble!

The intention of this bit of cyberspace is to keep a diary of what's happening in Studio 3D - the part of my basement and the portion of my brain dedicated to creating art, crafts and writing.

Watch this space for activities, scans of new creations and announcements of updates on my website.

 ...And welcome!
